Upgrade brings higher lifetimes and IP ratings for CombiTac DIN housings

Aluminium DIN housings for the CombiTac modular connector range have been redesigned and now offer increased ingress protection to IP65 and IP67. In addition, lifetimes have been extended to 10,000 mating cycles.

Designed and manufactured by Stäubli Electrical Connectors, the new range includes coupler hoods in sizes 2, 3 and 4 with or without protective walls, and surface and pedestal housings with or without protective walls and covers. Accessories include parking stations, interchangeable seals and protective caps for manual applications.

The ergonomic DIN housings are available with six marking options, and offer high shock and vibration resistance, IP2X protection during connection/disconnection and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

With a robust locking mechanism, they are easy to maintain with quick replacement of sealing. They are suitable for use in the rail industry, being compliant for shock and vibration resistance according to EN 61373 category 1B.

Designers can quickly build up the connector they need using the online CombiTac Configurator tool. Modules can be chosen from a wide range of contact types including power, signal, data, thermocouple, coaxial, fibre optic and bus connections as well as media such as pneumatics and hydraulics. The tool can be accessed from the dedicated CombiTac web site at configurator.combitac.com.
