Available from global imaging expert FRAMOS, the Sony IMX426 Pregius™ 3rd generation Global Shutter CMOS image sensor provides 9µm pixel size and reaches VGA resolution with 1,449 fps@10-bit for maximized throughput in Factory Automation.
VGA resolution is sufficient to solve lots of application tasks in Factory Automation and ITS, it’s the image quality and bandwidth that makes the difference and brings precise and fast inspection results. Sony’s IMX426 is a diagonal 9.2mm, 1/1.7 format type of imager with a square pixel pitch of 9µm for highly saturated and sensitive images. The Pregius global shutter pixel technology for active pixel-type CMOS image sensors that use Sony’s low-noise CCD structure realizes high picture quality. Using the advantages of Sony’s 3rd generation features including the high-speed interface SLVS-EC, the sensor reaches a read-out speed up to 1,594 fps at 8-bit.

It produces excellent image quality by featuring high/low conversation gain modes, dual triggering, dual ADC, and self-triggering. These features achieve high sensitivity, low dark current, and, low PLS characteristics, which makes the imager a perfect choice for the automation of production lines and applications surveilling traffic and transport. Maximizing the throughput of production lines, objects can be inspected with precise detection, and increased accuracy from short working distances.”
The chip operates with analog 3.3V, digital 1.2V, and interface 1.8V triple power supply, and has low power consumption. Evaluation samples are available from FRAMOS immediately, mass production starts end of 2018 with monochrome and middle of Q1 2019 with color version.
